XLOOKUP function - Standardization and Use
2024-10-11, 11:00–11:30 (Europe/Luxembourg), Auditorium

LibreOffice has introduced some new functions in Calc in version 24.8, including the XLOOKUP function. The talk reports on the work to standardize XLOOKUP in ODF and shows the use of the function with some examples.

The XLOOKUP function was introduced in Calc to improve the processing of documents in xlsx format. However, the underlying file format of LibreOffice is not OOXML but ODF. It therefore requires some considerations and adjustments to achieve a good match with Excel on the one hand and to standardize the new function in ODF on the other. The presentation reports on these efforts. In addition, I would like to use some examples to show how this new function is used and what advantages it offers compared to the existing LOOKUP functions.
